The work Mr Wilson, in blue coat with gold buttons and black collar, yellow waistcoat and frilled cravat, powdered hair; red curtain background by Henry Bone was sold in the IMPORTANT GOLD BOXES,OBJECTS OF VERTU & PORTRAIT MINIATURES auction at Christies in London in May 2004. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,673.00 (€ 2,510.12), 39% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Bone achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Admiral Viscount Nelson (1758-1805), facing left in rear-admiral's undress, blue coat with gold buttons and gold epaulettes, white trousers and waistcoat, frilled cravat and black stock, wearing the breast star of red sash of the Order of the Bath an in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 36,489.33

Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Admiral Viscount Nelson (1758-1805), facing left in rear-admiral's undress, blue coat with gold buttons and gold epaulettes, white trousers and waistcoat, frilled cravat and black stock, wearing the breast star of red sash of the Order of the Bath an im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.325,00 (€ 36.489,33).
