Sold at the lower estimate price
In April 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Old Masters, which included the work Danaë, After Titian by Henry Bone. The result of GBP 6,000.00 (€ 7,669.78) was exactly at the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 6,000.00 – 8,000.00. Admittedly, works by Henry Bone have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Admiral Viscount Nelson (1758-1805), facing left in rear-admiral's undress, blue coat with gold buttons and gold epaulettes, white trousers and waistcoat, frilled cravat and black stock, wearing the breast star of red sash of the Order of the Bath an in November 2000 with an auction result of GBP 22,325.00 (€ 36,489.33)
Zuschlag beim unteren Schätzpreis
Im April 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Old Masters durch, in der auch die Arbeit Danaë, After Titian von Henry Bone zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von GBP 6.000,00 (€ 7.669,78) entsprach exakt dem unteren Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 6.000,00 – 8.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Henry Bone auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Admiral Viscount Nelson (1758-1805), facing left in rear-admiral's undress, blue coat with gold buttons and gold epaulettes, white trousers and waistcoat, frilled cravat and black stock, wearing the breast star of red sash of the Order of the Bath an im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 22.325,00 (€ 36.489,33).
