Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2006 Christies in London held the auction Sporting Art, which included the work A Horse And Coach Driving Through The Snow by Henry Thomas Alken, Sen.. The price achieved of GBP 1,200.00 (€ 1,751.61) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Thomas Alken, Sen. achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Meet On The Highway; A Meet On A Byway; On To The Road; And Crossing Paths in June 2013 with an auction result of GBP 37,500.00 (€ 43,769.22).

Im Mai 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion Sporting Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit A Horse And Coach Driving Through The Snow von Henry Thomas Alken, Sen. zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 1.200,00 (€ 1.751,61) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Thomas Alken, Sen. erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Meet On The Highway; A Meet On A Byway; On To The Road; And Crossing Paths im Juni 2013 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 37.500,00 (€ 43.769,22).
