Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
When the work Belgian Avant Le Déjeuner by Henri-Victor Wolvens was auctioned at Sothebys in Amsterdam in May 2007, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at - in retrospect quite modest - EUR 8,000.00 but the actual price achieved was more than three times as high at EUR 24,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Henri-Victor Wolvens; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Belgian Mer Agitée Avec Baigneurs sold at auction in May 2007 with the realized price of EUR 31,200.00.
Kunstwerk zum Dreifachen des oberen Schätzpreises versteigert
Als die Arbeit Belgian Avant Le Déjeuner von Henri-Victor Wolvens im Mai 2007 bei Sothebys in Amsterdam versteigert wurde, übertraf das Ergebnis die Erwartungen um ein Vielfaches. Der obere Schätzpreis war mit – rückwirkend betrachtet recht bescheidenen – EUR 8.000,00 angesetzt, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis hingegen war mit EUR 24.000,00 mehr als dreimal so hoch. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Henri-Victor Wolvens; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit Belgian Mer Agitée Avec Baigneurs im Mai 2007 mit dem Hammerpreis von EUR 31.200,00.
