Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Kasbah Au Pied Des Montagnes by Henry Jean Pontoy was auctioned at Artcurial in Marrakech in May last year. The price achieved of MAD 23,616.00 (€ 2,354.78) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as MAD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henry Jean Pontoy achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Les porteuses d'eau in December 2018 with an auction result of EUR 62,400.00.

Der dabei erzielte Preis von MAD 23.616,00 (€ 2.354,78) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit MAD 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Henry Jean Pontoy erzielen.
