Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Rowing On A River At The End of Summer by Henri Jacques Delpy was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2004, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 1,792.50 (€ 2,611.45). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri Jacques Delpy - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A summer afternoon by the riverside, which sold at auction in April 2000 for GBP 5,287.50 (€ 9,051.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Rowing On A River At The End of Summer von Henri Jacques Delpy im September 2004 bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 1.792,50 (€ 2.611,45) den Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Henri Jacques Delpy mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit A summer afternoon by the riverside beobachtet, die im April 2000 für GBP 5.287,50 (€ 9.051,99) versteigert wurde.
