Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work A musical score on a reading stand, a violin and a bow, a lute, a candlestick and books on a ledge - an overdoor by Henri-Horace Roland de la Porte was auctioned at Christies in London in May this year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 25,200.00 (€ 23,653.09). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri-Horace Roland de la Porte - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A brioche, two pastries, two covered jars and a glass of red wine on a stone ledge, which sold at auction in January 2005 for USD 78,000.00 (€ 59,774.70).

Als die Arbeit A musical score on a reading stand, a violin and a bow, a lute, a candlestick and books on a ledge - an overdoor von Henri-Horace Roland de la Porte im Mai diesen Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 25.200,00 (€ 23.653,09) den Besitzer.
