Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2008 Sothebys in New York held the auction Old Master and 19th Century European Art, which included the work Two Scenes Of Battle: A Pair by Henri Felix Emmanuel Philippoteaux. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 5,000.00 – 7,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 5,313.00 (€ 3,579.95) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Henri Felix Emmanuel Philippoteaux achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Portraits Présumés Du Chérif Boubaghla Et De Lalla Fatma N'Soumer Conduisant L'Armée Révolutionnaire in June 2013 with an auction result of EUR 325,500.00.
