In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book auction, the work A military skirmish (illustrated); and In the mêlée of battle changed hands for GBP 1,195.00 (€ 1,691.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 1,200.00 – 1,800.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri Désiré Van Blarenberghe - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work A Pair Of Military Scenes: A) An Encampment, With Three Mounted Soldiers, And Three Others Gaming; B) A Military Convoy By A Stream, which sold at auction in January 2019 for USD 6,000.00 (€ 5,238.34).
