Auction result misses estimated price range
In December 2019 a collector was able to acquire the work Lotus by Henri Chen Kezhan for HKD 17,500.00 (€ 2,001.43). This price was achieved in the auction Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Art Online at Sothebys in Hong Kong and was even below the estimate range of HKD 20,000.00 – 30,000.00 set by the auction house. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henri Chen Kezhan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Spring Roses, which sold at auction in June 2021 for HKD 47,880.00 (€ 5,201.01).
