In December 2007 Artcurial in Paris held the auction Old Master and 19th Century Paintings, which included the work Eglise Et Boulevard De La Madeleine by Henri Alexis Schaeffer. The price achieved of EUR 1,859.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Eglise Et Boulevard De La Madeleine is the most expensive artwork by Henri Alexis Schaeffer that we have observed at auctions so far.
