Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The flood by Henk Melgers was sold in the TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in November 2005. The price achieved of EUR 1,800.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Henk Melgers - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Workers in a corn field, corn sheaves in the foreground, which sold at auction in September 2005 for EUR 6,000.00.

Die Arbeit The flood von Henk Melgers wurde im November 2005 in der Auktion TWENTIETH CENTURY ART INCLUDING BELGIAN ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 1.800,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Henk Melgers mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Workers in a corn field, corn sheaves in the foreground beobachtet, die im September 2005 für EUR 6.000,00 versteigert wurde.
