This artwork by Hendrik Ijkelenstam achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Amsterdam in June 2001. In the PICTURES, WATERCOLOURS AND DRAWINGS auction, the work A Still Life With A Jugg, A Bottle And A Box sold for NLG 1,880.00 (€ 903.62) - well above the upper estimate of NLG 900.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Hendrik Ijkelenstam; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot A still life with green box, a vase and a jug sold at auction in February 2004 with the realized price of EUR 1,195.00.
