Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Prêt à partir pour la pêche (matin) by Hendrik Willem Mesdag was sold in the Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) auction at Christies in Amsterdam in May 2016. The price achieved of EUR 103,500.00 was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as EUR 80,000.00 – 120,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hendrik Willem Mesdag - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Marée Bas, which sold at auction in April 2001 for NLG 895,000.00 (€ 410,788.26).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Prêt à partir pour la pêche (matin) von Hendrik Willem Mesdag wurde im Mai 2016 in der Auktion Old Masters & 19th Century Art - (including Dutch Impressionism) bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von EUR 103.500,00 lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit EUR 80.000,00 – 120.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Hendrik Willem Mesdag mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Marée Bas beobachtet, die im April 2001 für NLG 895.000,00 (€ 410.788,26) versteigert wurde.
