A top price for Hendrik Willem Mesdag
The work Marée Bas by Hendrik Willem Mesdag was sold in the NINETEENTH CENTURY ART auction at Christies in Amsterdam in April 2001. Here, the upper estimate of NLG 800,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for NLG 895,000.00 (€ 410,788.26). With this result, Marée Bas is even the most expensive work of art by Hendrik Willem Mesdag that we have observed at auctions so far.

Die Arbeit Marée Bas von Hendrik Willem Mesdag wurde im April 2001 in der Auktion NINETEENTH CENTURY ART bei Christies in Amsterdam versteigert. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von NLG 800.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für NLG 895.000,00 (€ 410.788,26) einen neuen Besitzer. Mit diesem Ergebnis ist Marée Bas sogar das teuerste Kunstwerk von Hendrik Willem Mesdag, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
