The »bidding war« ended at GBP 84,100.00 (€ 99,242.85), 40% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hendrik van Minderhout - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Extensive Rhenish Landscape With Peasants And Animals Resting In The Shade Of Romanesque Ruins, which sold at auction in January 2015 for USD 245,000.00 (€ 217,006.20).

Die Arbeit A Levantine Harbour With A Galley And A Man-Of-War Coming In To Anchor, Together With Many Figures On Shore von Hendrik van Minderhout wurde im April 2013 in der Auktion Old Master & British Paintings bei Sothebys in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 84.100,00 (€ 99.242,85) und damit 40% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Hendrik van Minderhout mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Extensive Rhenish Landscape With Peasants And Animals Resting In The Shade Of Romanesque Ruins beobachtet, die im Januar 2015 für USD 245.000,00 (€ 217.006,20) versteigert wurde.
