Sometimes on Saturday Mornings
signed 'HELEN BRADLEY' and with fly insignia (lower left); inscribed 'Sometimes on Saturday mornings/Mother let George and I go with our/milkman, Jimmy Wharfe, and ride/round with him in the milk float, but/today the aunts called and Miss Carter/(who wore pink) so we had to forgo our/Saturday morning treat, and go to/the shops with them. George and I/could see Bonnie Wharfe (our milk/horse) looking sad when he saw/us pass him by on the other side/of the road, "never mind" said/Mother, "you have only to wait six/more days, then it will be Saturday/again and you can go with Bonnie"./and the year was 1906.' (on an artist's label attached to the backboard)
