Going Home Through Alexandra Park
signed with a fly (lower right); signed again, inscribed and dated 'Going home through the park on a Winter's Evening./George, I, Mother, Grandma and the dogs (Gyp & Barney)/went to meet aunt Frances & aunt Charlotte in/the Park. They had already met Miss Carter (who wore Pink) and the three ladies were skating/along when they saw Mr Taylor (the Bank Manager)./"How kind dear Mr Taylor is" said mother to Grandma, "but look isn't that the Rev Albert Green walking/across the lee towards Charlotte & she's turning/towards him"-"I wonder if anything will come of it,"/but George & I had something much more interesting/to think about, all the ducks came across the ice/asking for food, and all the Japanese lanterns/were lit and everything looked like Fairyland &/the year was 1907./ Helen Layfield Bradley 1970' (on the artist's label attached to the backboard)

Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
The work Going Home Through Alexandra Park by Helen Bradley was auctioned at Christies in London in October last year. Here, the upper estimate of GBP 60,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for GBP 60,480.00 (€ 70,458.53). However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Helen Bradley - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Oh it's the King and Queen, which sold at auction in April 2019 for GBP 162,500.00 (€ 189,034.46).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Die Arbeit Going Home Through Alexandra Park von Helen Bradley kam im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wurde der obere Schätzpreis von GBP 60.000,00 leicht übertroffen – das Kunstwerk fand für GBP 60.480,00 (€ 70.458,53) einen neuen Besitzer. Für andere Arbeiten von Helen Bradley mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Oh it's the King and Queen beobachtet, die im April 2019 für GBP 162.500,00 (€ 189.034,46) versteigert wurde.
