Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mexican eagle by Heinrich Gottlieb Reichenbach was sold in the British and Continental Watercolours including Original auction at Christies in London in July 2004. The price achieved of GBP 286.80 (€ 433.42) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 200.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Heinrich Gottlieb Reichenbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work [Die Vollständigste Naturgeschichte der Vögel des In- und Auslandes. -- A collection of ten albums containing about 940 mounted ornithological illustrations, including 771 original watercolours and drawings on 640 sheets, c. 1845-1862. 10 volumes, 4° (|AID948840] in November 2000 with an auction result of G
-- A collection of ten albums containing about 940 mounted ornithological illustrations, including 771 original watercolours and drawings on 640 sheets, c. 1845-1862. 10 volumes, 4° (|AID948840] im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.750,00 (€ 114.003,62).
