(lower centre) and the other 'Palaeornis modestus Fras. proc.1845.16./zool.typ. XI.5.' and 'India, [?]/Borneo:Banjermarring:Schb[?]' (lower centre)

Auction result misses estimated price range
In November 2005 a collector was able to acquire the work A Pair of Parrots by Heinrich Gottlieb Reichenbach for GBP 420.00 (€ 617.03). This price was achieved in the auction A VIEW OVER EATON SQUAREA PRIVATE COLLECTION at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 1,000.00 – 2,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Heinrich Gottlieb Reichenbach achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work [Die Vollständigste Naturgeschichte der Vögel des In- und Auslandes. -- A collection of ten albums containing about 940 mounted ornithological illustrations, including 771 original watercolours and drawings on 640 sheets, c. 1845-1862. 10 volumes, 4° (|AID948840] in November 2000 with an auction result of G

Im November 2005 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit A Pair of Parrots von Heinrich Gottlieb Reichenbach für GBP 420,00 (€ 617,03) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion A VIEW OVER EATON SQUAREA PRIVATE COLLECTION bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 2.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Heinrich Gottlieb Reichenbach erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit [Die Vollständigste Naturgeschichte der Vögel des In- und Auslandes. -- A collection of ten albums containing about 940 mounted ornithological illustrations, including 771 original watercolours and drawings on 640 sheets, c. 1845-1862. 10 volumes, 4° (|AID948840] im November 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 69.750,00 (€ 114.003,62).
