Description
HE TIANJIAN (1893-1974) Autumn Scenery of the River Tong Scroll, mounted for framing, ink and colour on paper 89 x 80.5 cm. (35 x 31 3 ⁄ 4 in.) Entitled, inscribed and singed, with three seals of the artist Dated yiwei year (1955) Dedicated to Zihe NOTE: The recipient should be Xu Zihe (1916-1999), a native of Suzhou, Jiangsu Province. He is a famous artist and appraiser of calligraphy and painting who studied under Qian Shoutie (1897-1967) and was a member of the Chinese Artists Association. Xu's traditional skills are profound, and he is an expert at landscapes, figures, and flowers-and-birds paintings.
Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Autumn Scenery of the River Tong by He Tianjian was sold in the Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online auction at Christies in Paris in June this year. The price achieved of HKD 50,400.00 (€ 5,889.23) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by He Tianjian achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rise Of The Brilliant Sun in April 2016 with an auction result of HKD 6,680,000.00 (€ 752,602.05).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Autumn Scenery of the River Tong von He Tianjian wurde im Juni diesen Jahres in der Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online bei Christies in Paris versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 50.400,00 (€ 5.889,23) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von He Tianjian erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rise Of The Brilliant Sun im April 2016 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 6.680.000,00 (€ 752.602,05).
