In the Contemporary Art / Doha auction, the work Gendarme Français Arretant Un Patriote Tunisien (French Officer Arresting A Tunisian Patriot) sold for USD 81,250.00 (€ 72,791.61) - well above the upper estimate of USD 45,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Hatem El-Mekki - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Les Réfugiés (The Refugees), which sold at auction in October 2014 for USD 305,000.00 (€ 243,415.80).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 81 % übertroffen
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hatem El-Mekki erzielte im April 2015 bei Sothebys in Doha einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Contemporary Art / Doha wurde die Arbeit Gendarme Français Arretant Un Patriote Tunisien (French Officer Arresting A Tunisian Patriot) für USD 81.250,00 (€ 72.791,61) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 45.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Hatem El-Mekki mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Les Réfugiés (The Refugees) beobachtet, die im Oktober 2014 für USD 305.000,00 (€ 243.415,80) versteigert wurde.
