Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Ol' Sabertooth by Harry Jackson was auctioned at Bonhams in Los Angeles in February 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 937.50 (€ 823.89). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harry Jackson achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Sacagawea, Study for the Monument', A Bronze Figure in November 2002 with an auction result of USD 47,800.00 (€ 48,127.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Ol' Sabertooth von Harry Jackson im Februar 2019 bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.500,00 – 3.500,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 937,50 (€ 823,89) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Harry Jackson erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit 'Sacagawea, Study for the Monument', A Bronze Figure im November 2002 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 47.800,00 (€ 48.127,27).
