Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Cader Idris, North Wales, early morning; and Rhododendrons in bloom by Harold Sutton Palmer was sold in the Victorian, Pre-Raphaelite & British Impressionist Art, Maritime Art, Sporting & Wildlife Art auction at Christies in London in July 2016. It changed hands for a price of GBP 2,250.00 (€ 2,673.49) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,500.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Sutton Palmer - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Wye Valley, which sold at auction in June 2002 for GBP 5,019.00 (€ 7,763.26).
