Auction result well in line with expectations
In November 2017 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Post-War British Art, which included the work A London Street Scene In Snow by Harold Gilman. The price achieved of GBP 212,500.00 (€ 241,219.11) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 150,000.00 – 250,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Gilman - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Interior (Mrs Mounter), which sold at auction in November 2016 for GBP 485,000.00 (€ 572,252.32).
