Artwork auctioned at six times the upper estimate price
When the work Three Photographs including: Bobby Jones Golf Swing by Harold E. Edgerton was auctioned at Bonhams in Skinner Boston in January 2024, the result exceeded expectations many times over. The upper estimate was set at a - in retrospect quite modest - USD 600.00 but the actual price achieved was more than six times as high at USD 4,096.00 (€ 3,579.79). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harold E. Edgerton achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work 'Harold Edgerton: Ten Dye Transfer Photographs' in October 2019 with an auction result of USD 60,000.00 (€ 53,787.54).
