Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Towards the High Country by Harold Herbert was auctioned at Christies in Melbourne in April 2005. The price achieved of AUD 1,792.50 (€ 1,086.96) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harold Herbert - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Morning Light, which sold at auction in May 2005 for AUD 4,780.00 (€ 2,938.29).

Die Arbeit Towards the High Country von Harold Herbert kam im April 2005 bei Christies in Melbourne zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 1.792,50 (€ 1.086,96) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Harold Herbert mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Morning Light beobachtet, die im Mai 2005 für AUD 4.780,00 (€ 2.938,29) versteigert wurde.
