Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Harmen Steenwijck could be acquired at Sothebys in London in April 2016 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Masters auction, the work Still Life With A Dead Hare And Duck, Fish, Vegetables And An Earthenware Flagon, On A Draped Table changed hands for GBP 8,125.00 (€ 10,386.17) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 10,000.00 – 15,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Harmen Steenwijck achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Still Life Of A Quince, Grapes, Peaches, A Walnut, And Hazelnuts On A Wooden Ledge in December 2017 with an auction result of GBP 93,750.00 (€ 105,501.89).
