Auction result well in line with expectations

The price achieved of GBP 4,182.50 (€ 3,757.69) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Harmen Serin - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Portrait Of Hubertus Snoeck (1703-1773), Seated Three-Quarter Length, In A Library, Wearing A Grey Suit With A White Chemise, A Classical Garden Beyond, which sold at auction in May 2009 for EUR 13,750.00.

Die Arbeit Portrait Of A Gentleman, Standing Three-Quarter-Length, In A Blue Coat, With His Left Hand Resting On A Book; And Portrait Of A Gentleman, Standing, Three-Quarter-Length, In A Red Coat von Harmen Serin kam im April 2004 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der dabei erzielte Preis von GBP 4.182,50 (€ 3.757,69) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit GBP 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden.
