Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Hans Burgkmair the Elder could be acquired at Christies in London in July 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Old Master Prints auction, the work Christ on the Cross between the Virgin and Saint John changed hands for GBP 6,875.00 (€ 7,668.54) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Burgkmair the Elder achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Zwei Darstellungen des Heiligen Ulrich von Augsburg, um 1505/08. in September 2010 with an auction result of CHF 120,000.00 (€ 89,949.27).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Hans Burgkmair the Elder konnte im Juli 2020 bei Christies in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Old Master Prints wechselte die Arbeit Christ on the Cross between the Virgin and Saint John für GBP 6.875,00 (€ 7.668,54) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Hans Burgkmair the Elder erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Zwei Darstellungen des Heiligen Ulrich von Augsburg, um 1505/08. im September 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von CHF 120.000,00 (€ 89.949,27).
