Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In November this year Bonhams in Skinner Marlborough, Massachusetts held the auction Dance of Death, which included the work Portrait de femme by Hans Bellmer. Here, the upper estimate of USD 8,000.00 was slightly exceeded - the artwork found a new owner for USD 8,320.00 (€ 7,627.43). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Hans Bellmer achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Self-Portrait With Die Puppe in October 2012 with an auction result of USD 374,500.00 (€ 289,010.65).
