Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2007 Sothebys in Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works, which included the work Australian Towards The Black Hill, Payneham S.A by Henry James Johnstone. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of AUD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, the actual price achieved of AUD 10,800.00 (€ 6,458.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Henry James Johnstone have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in April 2003 the work Valley of the Sturt, Craigieburn, South Australia was auctioned for AUD 22,325.00 (€ 11,384.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2007 führte Sothebys in Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works durch, in der auch die Arbeit Australian Towards The Black Hill, Payneham S.A von Henry James Johnstone zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von AUD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von AUD 10.800,00 (€ 6.458,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Andere Arbeiten von Henry James Johnstone konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im April 2003 die Arbeit Valley of the Sturt, Craigieburn, South Australia für AUD 22.325,00 (€ 11.384,30) versteigert.
