Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Old Trinity by Guy Wiggins was sold in the Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture auction at Christies in New York in March 2008. It changed hands for a price of USD 49,000.00 (€ 31,002.85) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guy Wiggins achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The New York Stock Exchange in December 2005 with an auction result of USD 374,400.00 (€ 316,162.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Old Trinity von Guy Wiggins wurde im März 2008 in der Auktion Fine American Paintings, Drawings and Sculpture bei Christies in New York versteigert. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 49.000,00 (€ 31.002,85) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Guy Wiggins erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The New York Stock Exchange im Dezember 2005 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 374.400,00 (€ 316.162,81).
