This artwork by Gustavo Montoya achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in New York in November 2013. In the Latin American Art auction, the work Niña Con Jarro sold for USD 32,500.00 (€ 23,886.52) - well above the upper estimate of USD 15,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Gustavo Montoya; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Gustavo Montoya (1905-2003) sold at auction in May 2018 with the realized price of USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,489.29).
