In May 2011 Christies in New York held the auction Latin American Sale, which included the work Las hermanitas by Gustavo Montoya. The »bidding war« ended at USD 23,750.00 (€ 16,520.59), 32% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Gustavo Montoya - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Gustavo Montoya (1905-2003), which sold at auction in May 2018 for USD 43,750.00 (€ 37,489.29).

Im Mai 2011 führte Christies in New York die Auktion Latin American Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit Las hermanitas von Gustavo Montoya zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von USD 23.750,00 (€ 16.520,59) und damit 32% über dem oberen Schätzpreis.
