Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Gustave Doré could be acquired at Sothebys in London in July 2019 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 19th Century European Paintings auction, the work La Promenade changed hands for GBP 35,000.00 (€ 38,427.67) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Doré achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Souvenir De Loch Carron, Ecosse in April 2014 with an auction result of EUR 481,500.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Gustave Doré konnte im Juli 2019 bei Sothebys in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 19th Century European Paintings wechselte die Arbeit La Promenade für GBP 35.000,00 (€ 38.427,67) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Doré erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Souvenir De Loch Carron, Ecosse im April 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 481.500,00.
