Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2019 Christies in London held the auction Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale, which included the work L'Assiette de pêches by Gustave Caillebotte. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800,000.00 – 1,200,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 851,250.00 (€ 993,012.79) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gustave Caillebotte achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Jeune homme à sa fenêtre in November 2021 with an auction result of USD 53,030,000.00 (€ 46,983,255.07).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2019 führte Christies in London die Auktion Impressionist and Modern Art Evening Sale durch, in der auch die Arbeit L'Assiette de pêches von Gustave Caillebotte zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800.000,00 – 1.200.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 851.250,00 (€ 993.012,79) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gustave Caillebotte erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Jeune homme à sa fenêtre im November 2021 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 53.030.000,00 (€ 46.983.255,07).
