Auction result misses estimated price range
In October 2002 a collector was able to acquire the work Portrait of a Bavarian gentleman, bust-length, smoking a pipe by Gustav Köhler for GBP 352.50 (€ 557.59). This price was achieved in the auction British and Continental Pictures at Christies in London and was even below the estimate range of GBP 400.00 – 600.00 set by the auction house. Admittedly, works by Gustav Köhler have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Pfeiferauchender Mann in May 2011 with an auction result of EUR 3,750.00.
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im Oktober 2002 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Portrait of a Bavarian gentleman, bust-length, smoking a pipe von Gustav Köhler für GBP 352,50 (€ 557,59) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion British and Continental Pictures bei Christies in London erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 400,00 – 600,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gustav Köhler auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Pfeiferauchender Mann im Mai 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von EUR 3.750,00.
