In September 2013 Christies in London held the auction 19th Century European Art Including Orientalist Art, which included the work Leda And The Swan by Gustav Johan Fenger. The auction ended at the price of GBP 2,000.00 (€ 2,390.69), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of GBP 1,500.00 – 2,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Leda And The Swan is the most expensive artwork by Gustav Johan Fenger that we have observed at auctions so far.
