Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Mujer con manto rosa by Guillermo Meza was auctioned at Christies in New York in November 2016, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,299.87). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Guillermo Meza achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Las Majares in November 2010 with an auction result of USD 50,000.00 (€ 38,355.32).
