A top price for Guido Cagnacci - as previously expected
In January 2012 Sothebys in New York held the auction Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture, which included the work Reclining Male Nude by Guido Cagnacci. The price achieved of USD 1,142,500.00 (€ 875,277.71) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 1,000,000.00 – 1,500,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Reclining Male Nude is the most expensive artwork by Guido Cagnacci that we have observed at auctions so far.

Im Januar 2012 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Important Old Master Paintings and Sculpture durch, in der auch die Arbeit Reclining Male Nude von Guido Cagnacci zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 1.142.500,00 (€ 875.277,71) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 1.000.000,00 – 1.500.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Reclining Male Nude das teuerste Kunstwerk von Guido Cagnacci, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
