In March 2014 Sothebys in New York held the auction Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy, which included the work Poem In Running Script by Gui Zhuang. The auction ended at the price of USD 35,000.00 (€ 25,404.66), which exactly corresponded to the upper end of the estimated price range of USD 28,000.00 – 35,000.00. Other works by Gui Zhuang have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in October 2015 the work Five-Character Couplet In Running Script was auctioned for HKD 413,000.00 (€ 48,249.41).

Im März 2014 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Fine Classical Chinese Paintings & Calligraphy durch, in der auch die Arbeit Poem In Running Script von Gui Zhuang zur Versteigerung kam. Das dabei erzielte Ergebnis von USD 35.000,00 (€ 25.404,66) entsprach exakt dem oberen Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 28.000,00 – 35.000,00. Andere Arbeiten von Gui Zhuang konnten bereits höhere Auktionspreise erzielen, so wurde im Oktober 2015 die Arbeit Five-Character Couplet In Running Script für HKD 413.000,00 (€ 48.249,41) versteigert.
