NOTE: Sun Zhongying (1883-1953) named Pu, was born in Zhongshan, Guangdong. He was a poet of the South Society, and had a large collection of Chinese paintings and calligraphy. He served in many important positions in Guangdong provincial government.

Auction result well in line with expectations
In December 2021 Christies held the auction Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center, which included the work Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script by Gui Fu. The price achieved of HKD 30,000.00 (€ 3,398.13) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gui Fu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Pair Of Long -Men Couplet Of Calligraphy In Seal Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 4,130,000.00 (€ 425,195.53).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Dezember 2021 führte Christies die Auktion Exquisite Eye: Chinese Paintings Online including the Collection of Sun Ah Book Center durch, in der auch die Arbeit Seven-character Calligraphic Couplet in Clerical Script von Gui Fu zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 30.000,00 (€ 3.398,13) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gui Fu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Pair Of Long -Men Couplet Of Calligraphy In Seal Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.130.000,00 (€ 425.195,53).
