Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Calligraphy In Clerical Script (Lishu) by Gui Fu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in October 2000, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 23,500.00 (€ 3,550.20). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gui Fu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work A Pair Of Long -Men Couplet Of Calligraphy In Seal Script in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 4,130,000.00 (€ 425,195.53).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Calligraphy In Clerical Script (Lishu) von Gui Fu im Oktober 2000 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 23.500,00 (€ 3.550,20) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gui Fu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit A Pair Of Long -Men Couplet Of Calligraphy In Seal Script im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 4.130.000,00 (€ 425.195,53).
