This price was achieved in the auction Fine Chinese Paintings at Christies in New York and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of USD 4,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Guan Nianci; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Fragrance of Flowers sold at auction in May 2017 with the realized price of HKD 150,000.00 (€ 17,127.98).
