A top price for Gu Qingyao - as previously expected
The work Waterfall by Gu Qingyao was sold in the Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection auction at Christies in Hong Kong in December this year. The price achieved of HKD 44,100.00 (€ 5,102.87) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Waterfall is the most expensive artwork by Gu Qingyao that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Waterfall von Gu Qingyao wurde im Dezember diesen Jahres in der Auktion Cultured Legacy: Chinese Paintings and Calligraphy from the Chang Shiu Sig and Tung Shui Wah Collection bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 44.100,00 (€ 5.102,87) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben worden. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Waterfall das teuerste Kunstwerk von Gu Qingyao, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
