Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Captain Oates by Gregory Robinson was auctioned at Christies in London in September 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,080.00 (€ 1,584.98) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Gregory Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Nimrod under tow from the Koonya in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 7,528.11).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Captain Oates von Gregory Robinson kam im September 2005 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.080,00 (€ 1.584,98) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gregory Robinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Nimrod under tow from the Koonya im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 7.528,11).
