It achieved a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,709.57), exceeding the upper end of the estimate range by 38%. Admittedly, works by Gregory Robinson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work The Nimrod under tow from the Koonya in September 2007 with an auction result of GBP 5,250.00 (€ 7,528.11).

Die Arbeit Captain Oates von Gregory Robinson wurde im Oktober 2012 in der Auktion Travel, Science and Natural History bei Christies in London versteigert. Sie erzielte dabei einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.709,57) und übertraf damit das obere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne um 38%. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Gregory Robinson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit The Nimrod under tow from the Koonya im September 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.250,00 (€ 7.528,11).
