Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Veiled Moon by Granville Redmond was sold in the California Art auction at Bonhams in Los Angeles in November last year. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,875.00 (€ 30,877.65) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Granville Redmond achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work California Poppies in October 2000 with an auction result of USD 424,000.00 (€ 499,646.48).

Die Arbeit The Veiled Moon von Granville Redmond wurde im November letzten Jahres in der Auktion California Art bei Bonhams in Los Angeles versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 30.000,00 – 50.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 31.875,00 (€ 30.877,65) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Granville Redmond erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit California Poppies im Oktober 2000 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 424.000,00 (€ 499.646,48).
