Auction result well in line with expectations
In May 2019 Sothebys in New York held the auction The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online, which included the work Peter Ibbetson—La Jeu De Marseilles by Gordon Onslow-Ford. It changed hands for a price of USD 1,375.00 (€ 1,233.29) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Gordon Onslow-Ford achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Parliament Of Space Makers in November 2007 with an auction result of USD 229,000.00 (€ 155,909.59).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Mai 2019 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion The Sleep of Reason | A Private Collection of Surrealist Art Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Peter Ibbetson—La Jeu De Marseilles von Gordon Onslow-Ford zur Versteigerung kam. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von USD 1.375,00 (€ 1.233,29) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Gordon Onslow-Ford erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Parliament Of Space Makers im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 229.000,00 (€ 155.909,59).
